The concept is to extract the air from the gap between the blind and the glass. This 'hot' air can be exhausted in summer or can be used in winter, with a heat exchanger, to preheat the fresh air. The Verosol Climate Façade is easy to create with a low cost investment. It will save energy and provide very good levels of human comfort. With this façade you can achieve very good shading properties: G-value/Solar Factor/SHGC of less than 0.09 and Shading Coefficient of less than 0.10
How does it work?
Due to the permeability of the fabric, the absorbed heat is mainly conductively taken into the extracted gap. This has besides the energy savings on cooling also a significant comfort benefit due to the controlled surface temperature.

Besides all the energy and thermal comfort aspects of the simplified climate façade, the blind should provide a good visual comfort. This means that the blind should not only have a good level of Glare Control, but also allow a good View Through. If blinds are an obstruction for View Through, people will raise the blinds and thus block the energy savings function.
Why the Verosol Climate Façade?
The SilverScreen fabric of Verosol has proven to be the best choice for a simplified climate façade. It has a high light transmission and a very good solar reflection. It gives a good Glare Control and allows a good View Through.

The combination of SilverScreen with a clear Solar Control glazing keeps the required ventilation volumes on hot summer days at a normal level.
What do you need?
The blinds in simplified climate façades are part of the building installation and thus part of the climate control in the office. This makes it necessary to have everything controlled by an intelligent Building Management System. The control strategy should therefore be based on a lot of variables, like occupancy, indoor and outdoor temperatures, isolation and light levels, and even weather forecasts.
